Leaflike Group, a leader in biophilic design, was thrilled to be selected to craft a sustainable landscape for the newly renovated Mandarin Oriental Mayfair, a super luxury hotel and residences on the historic Hanover Square, London. As the hotel opens, we’re excited to see our vision enhance the ambience of one of London’s most iconic destinations.
From Small Wins to Landmark Collaborations
We’ve built a strong partnership with the visionary property developers behind this hotel renovation. Since 2018, we’ve collaborated on several high-profile London projects, primarily luxury hotels and residences. Our consistent delivery of exceptional results on smaller projects led them to recommend Leaflike for this landmark venture.
Planning for this ambitious project began in March 2023, with on-site work commencing earlier this year. We aimed to enhance the guest experience by integrating multiple biophilic elements throughout the hotel and residences. These thoughtfully designed spaces promote relaxation and well-being, offering guests a refreshing escape from the bustling urban environment.
Features and Highlights:
TRANSFORMATIVE GREEN WALLS: A standout feature of our work was installing over 400 square metres of green walling. These vertical gardens are strategically placed to enrich the hotel’s views, providing a vibrant touch of greenery visible from both public spaces and private bedrooms. These lush, green walls bring the beauty of nature indoors, creating a serene atmosphere that harmonises with the luxurious setting.
THE NINE-METRE FICUS TREE: At the centre of the hotel’s atrium stands an impressive Ficus tree, the largest artificial tree Leaflike has ever created. This nine-metre-tall tree, with a two-and-a-half metre-wide canopy, closely mimics the natural tropical tree known for its tall, columnar shape. Its realistic design makes it a striking focal point, adding a touch of grandeur to the space. The decision to use such a large artificial tree offers a long-lasting, maintenance-free solution that still brings the calming feel of nature indoors.
